As the world slowly returns to a semblance of normality, live music is again becoming an important part of the music scene. Paris-based band Monitors are showcasing their live chops with a blistering five-track EP, recorded at MorsanGang in Paris.
The surprise EP comes only a few months after the release of The War Office, which saw the band’s music being reviewed positively in Rolling Stone magazine, as well as publications and radio stations throughout Europe and the USA.
The live EP, which features their tracks Bloody Mary, The Drill, Glass, Roses & Wine, and the barnstorming political indie-pop of No Irish No Blacks No Dogs, sees them joined by new band member Renaud Fumey on guitar, keys, and backing vocals; really bringing out the layers and complexity of the band’s high-impact, no punches pulled post-punk sound.
Say the band, “We’ve be honing our live show over the last 18 months or so, during lockdown. We can’t wait to bring our music to live audiences, with gigs in France and the U.K. already lined up in the coming months.”
They go on to say, “For us, Live at MorsanGang shows us at our most vital and visceral. We love being in the studio, the technical side of recording is something we find fascinating and liberating. But the songs have a second life on stage, their rawness and power working best when unleashed in front of a live audience. The gig experience is one we have missed so much and can’t wait to share our music with fans new and old.”
Live at MorsanGang is released on the 10th of November via AnalogueTrash and will be available on Bandcamp and all major streaming and downloading platforms. The video will be available to stream on YouTube.
Live at MorsanGang was directed by Noé Braun, filmed by Inès Dutheil and edited by Emil Balic. The EP was mastered by Jérôme Kremser, sound recording was carried out by Germain Lévêque. The band give many thanks to Basile Chevalier for their support.

A band built on friendship across three cultures, that’s the foundation for Monitors; settled in mainland Europe, they combine talent from Liverpool, Bihać, and Paris.
Hopscotching from jangle pop and post-hardcore to math rock and shoegaze, these Minnesota rockers have a gift for musical multitasking. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 29, 2024
